FAQs
How long do air fryer hard boiled eggs last?
Store cooked eggs (unpeeled) in the fridge for up to one week. This makes them great for meal prepping for the week, you'll always have a high protein breakfast or snack on-hand.
Do eggs explode in an air fryer?
No. Unlike microwaving, air frying gently heats the eggs so they cook safely without water.
Can I use a different air fryer than Cosori?
While we did make the air fryer eggs in our Cosori air fryer, any type of air fryer basket or oven model will work great! The cooking time can vary slightly depending on the watts in your air fryer, which is why we give a cooking time range.
Do I need to adjust the air fryer cooking time for high altitude?
Most people don't need to change the cooking time for air fryer hard boiled eggs, even at higher altitudes. Unlike boiling eggs on the stove, where water boils at a lower temperature at elevation, an air fryer uses consistent dry heat that isn't affected the same way.
However, if you live at a very high altitude (above 5,000 feet) and notice your yolks are slightly undercooked, try adding 1-2 extra minutes to the cook time and test with one egg first.

Perfect Air Fryer Boiled Eggs
Equipment
Ingredients
- 6-12 large eggs raw
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer on 300 F for 3 minutes.
- Place from 6-12 eggs in the air fryer basket. They could roll around and won't be evenly spaced apart but that's ok.
- Cook the eggs in air fryer for 14-15 minutes for hard boiled eggs, you will NOT need to flip the eggs during cooking. Some air fryers cook slower or faster than others, the first time you make boiled eggs in an air fryer it's suggested to check one egg after 13 minutes of cooking time to test for doneness.
- Fill a medium size bowl with a mix of cold tap water and ice cubes to make a water bath. Instantly place the air fryer eggs into the water bath for 5 minutes to stop the eggs from cooking.
Notes
- Air fryer models can vary slightly and some could cook quicker or slower than the Cosori brand used in the recipe. Check one egg for doneness and if the inside isn't all the way cooked, add 1-2 more minutes to the cooking time.
- Using medium or extra large eggs could change the eggs cooking time.
- Adding water to the air fryer is NOT necessary to make air fryer hard "boiled" eggs. The eggs gets steamed inside of their shell without simmering them in water.
- To make soft boiled eggs in the air fryer cook the eggs for 9-10 minutes.
- Air fried eggs can get yellowish spots on the outside of shell, this is harmless and mostly washes off.
