Air fryer frozen asparagus is the best!
When you want a simple yet elegant vegetable side dish, it's hard to beat cooked asparagus. Whether you pan fry it, bake it, or air fry it, asparagus is always delish.
A little secret we do at home we highly recommend, keep multiple bags of frozen veggies on hand in the freezer. You can easily cook them from frozen and they often taste like fresh since they were picked at their peak!
What you'll need
- frozen asparagus - we used the Trader Joe's brand, any store bought brand will work fine
- olive oil - or another type of neutral oil
- fine sea salt
- freshly ground black pepper
- Optional additions - balsamic glaze, shredded parmesan cheese, lemon wedges

- Adding a drizzle of balsamic glaze in the last 2 minutes of cooking adds a sweet and savory touch.
- You can follow this same recipe using fresh asparagus. You'll just need to reduce the cooking time to 7-9 minutes depending on the thickness of the stalks.
How to air fry asparagus (frozen)
- Preheat your air fryer to 400 F for 5 minutes.
- In a medium-size bowl, add the frozen asparagus, olive oil, sea salt, and black pepper. Toss the ingredients together to combine, and nicely coat the asparagus.
- Spread the asparagus in an even layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for a total of 8-9 minutes, flipping after 4-5 minutes.
- Adding lemon wedges on the side is a nice touch, enjoy!
