Notes
You can use this same recipe to make hamburgers and chicken burgers. If you bought grocery store fresh turkey burger patties, follow the cooking temperature and time in the recipe. Since grocery store patties are often thinner than homemade, they could cook a minute or two faster. Use a cooking thermometer to check the internal temperature, and cook until they reach 165F.We prefer to use ground turkey with some fat in it, the almost fat free turkey doesn't have very much flavor.Using a burger press to evenly shape the patties is helpful, but not essential. You can also shape them with clean hands. The recipe makes four 4 oz burgers, you'll want to use small buns or add two burgers per larger bun.Easy to double or triple to freeze for later! To make gluten free or keto air fryer turkey burgers, skip the bun and just eat the patty on a bed of toppings. You can also purchase gluten-free buns or keto friendly buns.
