This air fryer frozen battered fish cooks straight from the freezer and turns out crispy on the outside and tender inside. It’s an easy, high protein dinner option that’s ready in minutes using any brand of frozen breaded fish filets.
Lay the frozen fish pieces in a single layer in the air frying basket, with room in between each piece.
Set the air fryer cook time for 12 minutes, flipping the pieces after 8 minutes.
Continue air frying the fish pieces for 4-6 more minutes until crispy brown and heated through.
Serve with tartar sauce or ketchup.
Notes
The recipe works with any model of air fryer, but some models do cook faster than others.
Either cod, salmon, or tilapia fillets can be used.
This also can work for unbreaded frozen fish pieces, follow the same recipe but brush with olive oil and sprinkle salt and pepper on the fish before cooking. Add more seasoning or drizzle with butter or squeeze lemon juice on the fish after cooking.
Flipping the fish isn't critical, but to get even browning it does the best job.
Be sure to preheat the air fryer or the fish won't cook evenly.
