Notes
In place of ham, you could also use bacon, chicken sausage, turkey ham, or pancetta. To swap the cream for cottage cheese, blend 1 cup of cottage cheese in a blender (low fat or full-fat) and thin it out with 1-2 tablespoon liquid. Using cottage cheese is higher protein and lower fat than the cream option.Feel free to substitute other types of cheese in this recipe like a 3 cheese blend, a sharp cheddar cheese, or a gruyere swiss blend. We originally wrote this recipe in 2019 and updated it in 2025. The macros are for cottage cheese instead of the cream since everyone seems to be swapping recipes with cottage cheese right now. If you use whipping cream, it'll increase the fat by 8 grams.
