An easy oven-baked dry rub wing recipe that gets extra crispy with a secret ingredient! You can use our homemade dry rub recipe or your favorite store-bought brand.
Preheat the oven to 425F and put the oven rack in the middle position.
Blot the chicken wings dry with paper towels and set them aside. Be sure to blot them very well, removing the excess moisture is what helps to get them crispy during cooking!
In a medium-sized bowl add the chicken wings, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, 2 tablespoon of chicken rub, and 1 tablespoon of baking powder. Combine well until all of the chicken pieces are covered with rub seasoning.
Arrange the seasoned chicken wings on a baking pan, skin side up. Bake the wings for 20 minutes and then turn them over. Continue baking for an additional 15-25 minutes until they're crispy and browned to your liking.
Serve with BBQ sauce, Ranch dressing, or your favorite sauces.
Notes
You can use your favorite store-bought chicken rub in place of the homemade rub if desired. To make sugar-free chicken rub (that's also keto and low carb), swap the brown sugar for golden erythritol or golden monk fruit. Coconut sugar can be used for a sugar-free rub but it won't be considered keto-friendly.The cooking time can vary based on the size of the chicken wings, if you use whole chicken wings the cooking time could be longer.
