Cooking tender and juicy ribeye steak in an air fryer takes just 10 minutes of cooking time! No need to pull out the grill when you can cook ribeye year-round in an air fryer. Serve with potatoes and a veggie.
Remove the steak from the fridge 15-20 minutes before you're planning to start cooking. While the steak is resting make the garlic butter by combining the softened butter, minced garlic, and parsley in a small bowl. Put the butter in the fridge until the steak is done.
Brush both sides of the steak with olive oil and sprinkle both sides with salt and pepper.
Preheat the air fryer to 400 F for 5 minutes.
Place the ribeye steak in the air fryer and cook it for 10+ minutes on 400 F (for medium-rare), flipping it after 5 minutes. Check the steak for your desired degree of doneness with a digital meat thermometer.- 125°F for rare, 135°F for medium-rare, 145°F for medium, and 150°F for medium-well.
Remove the ribeye from the air fryer and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving. One 8 oz ribeye steak serves 2 people, cut it in half and serve each 4 oz portion with 1 tablespoon of garlic butter, if you’re using it.
Notes
You can cook two 8 oz ribeye steaks at one time if you have a large air fryer. It's perfectly fine to skip the garlic butter! Ribeye is amazing and tastes great with just a little salt and pepper. This same method will work with other high-quality cuts of steak that are also bone-in 8 oz size and a similar thickness like New York steak. Lower quality cuts need to be marinated first.
