Make healthy air fryer okra from frozen in your air fryer! No need to use fresh okra and soak it, get your favorite Southern side on the table fast when you cook it from frozen.
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the frozen okra, the olive oil, garlic salt, and black pepper. Stir well.
Spread the okra in the bottom of the air fryer, it's ok if the pieces overlap slightly but for best results, you don't want to stack the okra. This could mean you can only air fry a ½ lb bag of frozen okra if you have a small air fryer, and cook the bag in batches.
Set the cooking time to 15 minutes, flip the air fryer frozen okra over after 8 minutes of cooking. The air fryer okra is done when it's roasted, lightly browned, and heated through, this could take longer than 15 minutes. Cook the okra until it's done to your liking, we like it browned and crispy.
Serve with your favorite air fryer dinner dishes and enjoy!
Notes
You can double and make 1 lb of frozen okra in an air fryer if you have a large model.for best results, do not stack the okra in the air fryer and cook them in a single layer. If you have a small air fryer and want to cook the entire 1 lb bag at once, be sure to shake the basket every 5 mins until the okra is cooked to your liking.Typically with raw okra you have to soak it in water first before cooking, since frozen okra is already partially cooked through you don't need to do this for air fried okra! Yay time-saving hacks! The same recipe can also be used for breaded frozen okra. Frozen breaded okra often comes in bite size morsels so you won't need to cook it as long. Check after 8-10 minutes of cook time for doneness.
